About Me

My photo
I am a wife to the most amazing husband (Eric) and a mother to 2 wonderful kids (Jessica and Evan). My family is my world. I have recently put my career as a medical assistant on hold to be a stay-at-home mom/wife. We want to raise kids with manners and still have a strong family, so I am always trying ideas to help make things easier on me (cleaning tips, organization, meal planning, crafts, etc.) I thought I would share them with everyone out there. So, please comment with your ideas, or if you have tried one posted on here (Did you like it?) I am always open to suggestions. I am also looking for money savers. It's my new passion now that there is only 1 income.

Mission-Linen Closet

This was a HUGE project that I have been putting off for....well a LONG time (which had made the clutter grow and grow and...groooooow) So I pulled every item out and...well....about burst into tears after realizing I had to put it all back. So here is phase 1.....(brace yourself)

How the hell all of this fit into our little linen closet...I'm still amazed! Between the mounds of Eric's diabetic supplies, bathtime body paints for the kiddos, and all the stock piles of shampoo from couponing, I was scared it would never fit back in (kind of like an electronic item taken out of it's box).

I decided to start small. I began grouping "like" items together into mini piles. This didn't seem too bad...phew, there was light at the end of this LOOOOOONG tunnel.

After almost everything was in a pile, I had to come up with a way to keep it in it's pile. (With 2 little ones, things do not stay put very well). With my 2 little helpers, we put things that were easy to fall through the cracks in our linen closet shelves into plastic baggies (bath body paint, diabetic test strips, etc.)

Then larger items were put into baskets to keep them all in their group.

Now was the true test... to see if I could fit everything back into the linen closet. The process took some time since I went through all meds to check expiration dates and little things like that. I would be so dissapointed if it didn't fit. Well...here are the results:

That's right...there is EMPTY SPACE!!!! Mission successful!
