About Me

My photo
I am a wife to the most amazing husband (Eric) and a mother to 2 wonderful kids (Jessica and Evan). My family is my world. I have recently put my career as a medical assistant on hold to be a stay-at-home mom/wife. We want to raise kids with manners and still have a strong family, so I am always trying ideas to help make things easier on me (cleaning tips, organization, meal planning, crafts, etc.) I thought I would share them with everyone out there. So, please comment with your ideas, or if you have tried one posted on here (Did you like it?) I am always open to suggestions. I am also looking for money savers. It's my new passion now that there is only 1 income.

Pinned and Tried It

Here is where I will post everything I have tried out myself from Pinterest. Sometimes I will have a pic of the pin I used as well as a pic of my outcome (I am going to emphasize MY OUTCOME.) Please feel free to leave comments and
let me know if you have tried the same thing and your outcome.

Bath Time Cubes
This works perfectly! All you need is an icecube tray, food color, water, and a freezer. I found a really cute icecube tray at Ikea and use it just for this. The kids absolutely love trying to catch the melting cubes and I love that they are so much cheaper than the bathfizes you buy in the store.

Bathtime Paints
If you have little ones and have ever looked for the bathtime paints at the store, you are probably as shocked as me at the price. This was super easy to make (in fact my 4 year old helped me) and you can make the colors as bright or pastel as you want AND make the colors they your kids want!

Here is what you'll need:
Small containers with lids
1/2 cup of body wash
4-5 Tbsp cornstartch
Food coloring

Mix ingredients together and Ta-Da! Easy and cheap!!!

Homemade Baby Wipes
NOT worth it! These turned completely moldy before we could use them all up. I'd rather buy generic wipes from the store or coupon for the brand name. If you have an idea that will work so they do not mold, please let me know!!!!

Here is how we made them...
a round plastic container with lid
Viva paper towels
Sharp, serrated knife to cut paper towel roll in half
2 cups water that has been boiled and cooled to room temperature
2 Tbsp. baby shampoo or baby wash
1 Tbsp. baby oil

Mix your liquid ingredients in container and place one of the paper towel halves inside, cut side down Put the lid of the container on tightly and let it sit until all the liquid is absorbed. Then, turn the container upside down and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
